Since the publication of Phillip Buckner and R. Douglas Francis’ ground breaking Rediscovering the British World (2006) there has not been a collection of essays that have looked at the history of the British World from a multi subject perspective. Since the publication of Buckner and Francis’ book a new generation of scholars have continued research into the history of the British World in fascinating ways. Therefore, this edited collection aims to showcase these new voices and perspectives and illustrate that the transnational British World perspective continues to be a fruitful direction of research.

The edited collection will be published in the ‘Studies in Transnationalism’ book series with Peter Lang Publishing, subject to a successful peer review. Abstracts of no more than 300 words from scholars are initially sought, along with a short bio (including institutional affiliation if any) of no more than 250 words (in one Word document). Once people are informed whether their proposed chapters will be included in the collection they will be required to submit their full chapters, and then after receiving feedback, their finalised chapters according to the timeline below. Chapters are expected to be 7000-10,000 words in length, including endnotes and a short bibliography, formatted according to the Chicago reference style.
