China-Australia Relations in the New Era: opportunities and prospects

7-9 June 2024  Xi’an, Shaanxi

Since its founding in 1988, the Chinese Association for Australian Studies has been committed to promoting Australian Studies and strengthening the mutual understanding between Australia and China. One of its major missions is to organise international conferences of Australian Studies in China.

The 20th International Conference of Australian Studies in China will be held in Xi’an, Shaanxi on 7-9 June 2024, hosted by School of English Studies at Xi’an International Studies University.

The theme of the 2024 Conference is China-Australia Relations in the New Era: opportunities and prospects. It aims to explore the opportunities brought to the two countries as China-Australia relations enter a new 50-year period. The conference is multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary and welcomes papers on politics, economy, trade, international relations, history, society, culture, education, language, literature, translation, arts and so forth.

The working language of the conference is Chinese or English. Speakers who intend to present their papers in Chinese are expected to provide abstracts in English.

The conference fees are CNY1,000 each (half fees for postgraduate students). Participants cover their own transport (airfares and train fares) and accommodation.

Conference agenda: 7 June, arrival and registration; 8-9 June, conference sessions.
